101I 1/2" dr non-sparking socket set has been subjected to drop forging process. The socket is usually attached to the ratchet via a square fitting that contains ball detent. The ratchet assembly then is connected to the metal handle to form a complete socket wrench. The socket is commonly sold in one of the two types: either six-point or four-point socket that fits on the hexagonal or square head of a bolt or nut to tighten or loosen it.
Gross weight of the tool kit that comprises a complete set of beryllium copper sockets and accessories is 9050g and aluminum bronze sockets and accessories, 8520g.
Note: The square fitting attached to the ratchet is also called the drive, since it functions as the drive shaft that transmits the torque from the metal handle to the socket for rotation. Therefore, the drive extension is also known as the square fitting extension, extended arm, or simply extension that is attached to the socket on one end and the ratchet on the other. It allows easy access to the nut that is recessed or otherwise unreachable with a standard wrench.
